On Monday, July 19, 2021 , the Rotary Club of Florence (@FlorenceRotary) will hear from Dr. Hasan Faruq, Department Chair and Professor of Economics at Xavier University (@XavierU). A special Paul Harris Fellowship presentation will be following his talk.
Born and raised in Bangladesh, Hasan Faruq attended Bard College, a small liberal arts college in New York, where he received his undergraduate degree in economics. Hasan completed his MA and PhD in economics from Indiana University and subsequently joined the faculty in the economics department at Xavier University. During the 2017-18 academic year, Hasan taught at the City College of New York as a Visiting Faculty. Hasan is currently serving as the Chair of the Economics Department at Xavier.
Hasan primarily teaches courses in international economics, international business and development economics at the undergraduate level and international economics, international business and managerial economics at the MBA level.
Hasan’s research interests broadly lie in the areas of social and political institutions, international trade/globalization and economic development. His scholarly work have been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Applied Economics, Applied Economics Letters, Eastern Economic Journal, Economics Bulletin, Economic Systems, Journal of Development Studies, Manchester School and Review of Development Economics. Hasan has also published several articles with undergraduate students at Xavier University.

2.) Select the Fr. Wright on Dixie Highway location for a “Pickup” (and NOT a delivery);
3.) Order your meal just like you would at the restaurant … select the sandwich size, bread, cheese and/or toppings, plus any additional items you may want (chips and/or a drink);
4.) Mark the order for an 11:30 pick-up on Monday. Under “Order Notes” please add “For Florence Rotary/Pickup by Dave Wolfer”;
5.) Pay via a credit card.
